Baysville, Ontario Canada
Our involvement in the community is year round. In April, we organize the Village Garage sale. (May 1, 2010 from 9 a.m to 1 p.m)
In Spring, we plant all the barrels around the village, which adds a splash of colour during the Summer months, then replace some with mums in the Fall. We also take care of the flower bed beneath the community information sign. The Baysville South Shore Times (our community newspaper) promotes our village and events around the lake and beyond. Our group also puts out the Baysville Tourist Map every two years and has placed an updated large map at the Tourist Infomation Centre. Our largest event takes place in July, the Baysville Walkabout Festival. This year, we will be celebrating the 22nd year of this event.
We sponsor the Farmer's Market and help set up each week all summer. In the Fall, we decorate the village with corn stalks and when November comes, we put up Christmas Wreaths.
At the beginning of December, we organize the Christmas House Tour.
Plan to attend the 12th Annual Surf and Turf Dinner on Saturday, July 3rd, 2010 at the Baysville Curling Club. Cocktails at 6:30, Dinner at 7:15. There will be a major door prize, a raffle, a silent auction and a live auction. Tickets are $35 for lobster and beef and $25 for beef only.
